Isn't it a bit late for caterpillars? Obviously, this one doesn't think so as it is merrily munching my geranium. Anybody know what it is? It's certainly a handsome chap, which leads me to another question: do caterpillars have a sex? I don't mean, do caterpillars have sex. It's the butterflies that do that. But there are male and female butterflies, so are there also male and female caterpillars? To Google I must go.
From sparrows to sparrowhawks, stag beetles to muntjac stags, Hillingdon and Uxbridge boast a huge variety of wildlife. This blog contains my own observations and I welcome any input from other nature lovers.

I think it might be a Yellow-tail Moth caterpillar.
Ooh, thanks. I looked right through Butterflies but didn't get as far as moths. Something has been eating the roots of my poor geranium. It's not well at all. I shan't blame the caterpillar for that.
That'll probably be vine weevil grubs, Hydra.
