First he looks at the feeder and works out what he's going to do...

Then he gives it a bash with his beak to set it swinging...

And finally it swings towards him so that he can grab a peanut.

From sparrows to sparrowhawks, stag beetles to muntjac stags, Hillingdon and Uxbridge boast a huge variety of wildlife. This blog contains my own observations and I welcome any input from other nature lovers.

Are you going to put one where the jay can reach it, or is it more amusing to watch him swinging that one?
We put it there to try and outwit the squirrel! But that seems to be impossible. There is another peanut feeder but the jay hasn't found it yet. I'm thinking of putting up a sign...
